We have moved to a voucher system.  You can purchase the discounted voucher from Pets Come First, and then schedule your appointment directly with the clinic.  This will make the process more efficient, and help get your appointment scheduled faster!

Spay & neuter is a very important cause to Pets Come First and the community, because it is the only true way to combat the root cause of pet overpopulation.  Unfortunately adoptions alone cannot solve the problem.  Please encourage your friends and families to have their pets spayed and neutered!

Donations Needed!

We are in need of canned cat and dog food, cat litter, and Purina kitten chow!  We use any brand of canned food and litter. Donations can be mailed directly to us through Amazon, Chewy, Walmart, etc., or they can be dropped off at the shelter.

Thank you very much for your ongoing support and donations!

Luv’n a Pittie Program!

Come join us for our LAP (Luv’n a Pittie) Program!  Learn Dog Training tips from a licensed Dog Trainer, and help our dogs at the shelter learn some basic training and commands.  Training will occur every Sunday at 2pm, and we ask that you come in 1 other day during the week to practice with the dogs.  We will spend time with all of the dogs – but focus will be on the Pittie’s to help them be more socialized and trained as they find their new home.

Here is Scarlett the boxer, we rescued her in Sept of 2015, she was very tiny and is still pretty tiny. She is wonderful with the kids, a little spiteful and now likes to shimmy under our fenced in yard if she hears us out front, so our beautiful fence is now lined with chicken wire!! We love her and couldn't ask for a sweeter buddy for our other boxer Bryn, our babies and us!! Thank you!

Nellie 2

1 year ago today, I brought home this 7yo bundle of joy named Nellie, with no idea what I was in for. She was terrified of everything & everyone. She spent the first few weeks cowering, her tail wrapped around her hind leg. She had never been inside a home, let alone house-trained. I could barely get her around the block on a leash. She was never socialized and didn't know how to interact with people or other dogs. We still have a long way to go, but she's made a ton of progress since then. She mastered house-training a while ago and now lounges freely in her castle all day. She walks beautifully on her leash 4 miles a day, 98% of the time (1% randomly lunging at car tires, 1% stopping in the middle of the street and refusing to budge when she's had enough). She grows more and more confident, approaching and sniffing curious new things (rather than fleeing), and enjoys meeting new people - even letting most of them pet her. She's gained weight and no longer devours all food within reach. She rides in the car, loves going hiking in the mountain, and even visits the nursing home. I'm so glad I stopped by Pets Come First that day - when I didn't even realize I wanted a second dog! lol Nellie cracks me up, and reminds me every day to appreciate & enjoy the little things in life when she forgets that we're on a walk or that she came outside to pee and randomly stops, drops, and just rolls in the grass. Thank you, Pets Come First!!

Mia 3 Mia 2

This is Mia. When I got her, her name was Shelby. These are recent pictures of her after I got her she was very thin when I got her and now she weighs 75 lbs. She was very skidish of almost everything when I got her and now she loves four wheeler rides and other dogs and loves the snow! She is my beautiful girl that's growing up way to quick. Lol but I thought I would share some pics of her now.

I wanted to take a minute and update the staff on a happy adoption. We adopted Coy from y’all in October of 2012. 3 + years later he is still a very happy addition to our home. Home anyone could give away such a sweet and loyal companion is beyond us. The first picture is the one you had. The second is Coy in his new home with his “sister” Zoey. The third is Coy with his sisters Blondie and Casey.

About 4 years ago we adopted Cody from you. He is a great pet. He had been found in bear meadows. He is spoiled rotten and we'll fed. Here he is waiting to get groomed.

Happy 2nd birthday to this "Big Lug" who is often referred to by his French name "Buchard", or "Butchie" by the kids, but really his name is Butch. We rescued him just over a year ago and have enjoyed every minute with him. He enjoys long early morning walks, tearing his stuffed animals to shreds, playing fetch, tug of war, but mostly he loves snuggling his people (even his little people). He putsup with a lot from the kids (laying on him, taking his toys, and often getting him into trouble because they feed him their food when they aren't supposed too!) Here's to many more birthdays with you Buchard. We are so lucky to have you in our family. ??Thanks Pets Come First for helping us find the best dog for our family!

I adopted Bandit a little over a week ago, here's a picture of him, settled in quite well. As you can see, he's taken very well to my 2 year old son and they are the best of friends!!
