These are some of the Happy Tails that we have received in the past month! Notes from the owners are listed in the comments for the pictures. We love seeing how well everyone is doing, so feel free to share your story!
My name is Sophie who adopted a cat from PCF in Jan, 2015. I know that it is really late to say this, but I really want to say thank you so much for giving my family and me an opportunity to meet this precious cat that has become one of our family members. His name was Trapper (now he is called “Mapo” which is my hometown name) and Trapper and I moved to South Korea last May 🙂 Thankfully all of my family members love him and we cannot imagine our lives without him 🙂 Thank you again for allowing me to adopt this healthy cat! (another shelter didn’t let me adopt a cat because I was an international student…) I hope other people can also get to meet precious cats and dogs at PCF! See pictures below…

Spay & neuter is a very important cause to Pets Come First, and the community, because it is the only true way to combat the root cause of pet overpopulation. Unfortunately adoptions alone cannot solve the problem. Please encourage your friends and families to have their pets spayed and neutered!
Check out Pets Come First in the Lewistown Sentinel! Thank you for the support and publicity for the shelter, spay/neuter clinic, and bike ride fundraiser!!
The 7th Annual Dog Jog was a great success. Special thanks to Milesburg Legion for their memorial donation!
The Fourth Annual Puppy Love Wine Tasting will be held on February 8, 2015, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Seven Mountains Wine Cellars. Tickets can be purchased at the Pets Come First shelter or online.
Thank you to the Petco Foundation for the grant to help support low cost spay and neuter clinics coordinated by Pets Come First! Spay and neuter of cats and dogs helps to address the root cause of pet overpopulation that can lead to homeless and unwanted animals.

Thank you PCF for helping us out when we found a serious injured animal. We have found this little cat owners. She is the sweetest thing and doing well. I don’t know what I would have done if your organization hadn’t stepped in. Thank you for all you do in our community.

Pets Come First, Inc. is strongly committed to our mission of facilitating the placement of stray and unwanted animals into loving homes. We are dedicated to ensuring responsible shelter management within our community, working together to eliminate the critical overpopulation of homeless, stray, and abused animals. Educating our community on the importance of spaying and neutering all animals will decrease the number of surrendered and unwanted animals to area shelters and rescue groups. We work in partnership with other rescues, local & state police, Humane Officers, and Dog Law Enforcement Officers to provide monetary and voluntary resources to support and sponsor local animal programs within our community. We will offer emergency placement, food, and medical services for the pets of approved and responsible low-income families and senior citizens.
